Chelsea Lindman - Agent and Director of Foreign Rights
As Director of Foreign Rights at The Nicholas Ellison Agency, Chelsea successfully places bestselling fiction and non-fiction authors, in addition to first-time novelists, with international publishers who are committed to promoting the longevity of an author’s career and to developing audiences abroad. She works with several bestselling authors such as Nelson DeMille, Sarah Dunn, Jeff Lindsay, Christopher Moore, and Alan Weisman. Chelsea also works closely with her co-agents in territories around the world and meets regularly with foreign publishers in New York and at the international book fairs, including the Frankfurt Book Fair, the London Book Fair, and Book Expo America.
Chelsea also represents authors domestically in the US. Her primary areas of interest are YA/Children’s fiction, mysteries and literary fiction. She also looks for innovative non-fiction projects dealing with timely issues related to pop culture, politics, health, and science. In addition, she is seeking new voices in women’s fiction, narrative non-fiction and is actively pursuing clients that are looking to build a lasting relationship.
Before joining The Nicholas Ellison Agency in 2008, Chelsea was an editor at Europa Editions, an independent publishing house which focuses on literary and crime fiction. Chelsea is a graduate of University of California, Santa Barbara; she holds degrees in Literature and Communication. She prefers to receive submissions via e-mail at clindman [at] sjga [dot] com.
